I really like this ruffled doily pattern. It is very beautiful. And thanks for gifting me your doilies. I have them in my drawing room and everybody admires them. Keep it up!
Lovely! I tried making it, thought I am a newbie at this, but it was a bit loose maybe it was the thread I used, what size thread did you use to make this doily??
Hi... Thanks for your comment. The reason for your doily being loose is only because you must have crocheted it loose. Doilies look good if their stitches are a bit tight. The size of the thread doesn't matter. Just try making tight stitches... your doily will look better that way. :) As for my threads, we get local brand threads here... and the size is not mentioned on them. But as I said earlier, size doesn't matter at all. Gud Luck. :))
Hi, This is a really great piece. I have it all done except for the last round. I am ok until I get to the "skip 2 loops of front scallop, drop loop from hook, insert in next loop, pull dropped loop through having free loops to back of work".
My "loops" are getting tangled and don't lay flat.
Is it the first two loops of bubble you made the first time? HELP!
"skip two loops" refers to the last two loops of the first scallop... that means you have to insert the hook in the last but third loop of the first scallop. Try it... if you still have any doubts, I can send u some pics of the doily showing which stitches you have to skip. If u send me ur email id, I'd be glad to help. :-))
Hi, I am so happy to see this pineapple ruffle doily. I did that pattern when I was a teenager, lost it and thank you, for bringing it back. I will love for my kids to see the beauty of it, by crocheting it by themselves.
Thank you, I made the Oval Pineapple ruffle. It is beautiful, at the last row to tie in the ruffles, i used red thread. My daughter also made one, but with wool, it also came out beautiful (really large).
"Oval Pineapple Ruffled Doily" very nicely and neatly done, I liked the thread, would love to have this pattern for myself and for gifting, I would like to ask you if you are aware of the pattern in old 1950-1960; wherein most of houses had crocheted decorative lacy article, it has roses with leaves and they are connected with chains may be, eg first row with 6 roses second row 3 + 3 devided and then reduced down to single rose at each sides, so looks like two triangles. it is mainly put outside the main door, in marathi we call them "TORAN" it is like two triangles attached in one piece, hope I'm able to describe it in right words,Please guide me if you got the concept. Thanks in advance, With Love geeta rane (geetamr@gmail.com)
